Pupil Premium Academic Year 2013-2014

Funding Allocated from January 2013 Census: £92,700

Durham Sixth Form Centre is committed to raising the academic standards of all students. As a school, we receive Pupil Premium funding to help us in our ambition to ensure every student is successful and to ensure they can make a contribution to the life of the school through participation in both the academic and extra-curricular life of the school.

The Pupil Premium is allocated to children from families who are eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) and children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months. The objective of Pupil Premium is to narrow the gap between Pupil Premium students and other students by overcoming social inequalities by raising the attainment of those students in low-income families.

From April 2012 this now also includes pupils eligible for FSM at any point in the last 6 years (known as the Every 6 measure).  At Durham Sixth Form Centre, we use Pupil Premium funding to ensure that all students receive a high quality learning experience and engage in opportunities to make Academic, Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural growth.  More information can be obtained on Pupil Premium by clicking here.

In the 20012-13 academic year, our Pupil Premium interventions were successful in ensuring that all students regardless of their barriers to successful learning made good progress.

Information on the positive progress made by Pupil Premium Groups can be downloaded here.
