Gilesgate Campus
The Gilesgate Campus is on the periphery of Durham City. It occupies an extensive site on the edge of residential developments.
The Campus is located 1½ miles from the City Centre in the west and 1½ miles from the A1(M) to the east.
It is well served by local bus services.
Sixth Form Centre
Students who study at Durham Sixth Form Centre have the benefit of being in the heart of a World Heritage Site: we are less than five minutes walk from Durham City Centre. No other sixth form institution can offer its students this exciting location. With the River Wear and the famous “Sands” on our doorstep many students enjoy walking along the riverbanks at lunchtime. In the City itself students find a host of lively cultural, social and educational advantages and facilities.
The theatres, galleries, exhibitions museums and book shops all play their part in enriching the students’ experience.
The Sixth Form Centre has excellent transport links. It is serviced by direct routes from all corners of the County, and the bus and railway stations are both within easy walking distance of the Centre. A large public car-park is directly opposite the Centre’s main entrance.
