Leadership and Coaching

The Sports College has become one of the leading providers of sports leadership and coaching opportunities in the country.

It boasts sports leadership courses in years 7,10,11,12 and 13 with gifted and talented camps in year 9. The Sports College is now playing a lead role in developing leadership in foreign countries through the Dreams and Teams project.

Leaders from the Sports College work with local primary schools, children with special needs and Durham City School Sport Partnership, among others, as well as help with the organisation and management of both Junior and Bupa Great North Runs.

Through coaching and leadership, students help and enthuse thousands of people from 4 – 100 years old every year in developing and maintaining participation in sport.
