Student Voice
We encourage and greatly value the students’ input into the planning and life of the Sixth Form Centre. Views and ideas are expressed, heard and acted upon via a number of ways.
Meet the Student Council…
We are the elected student body providing a lively forum for debate, consultation and communication. We meet regularly and represent students’ views, opinions and concerns. We make suggestions for development and change that are beneficial and that improve our student experience. As the Student Council we act as ambassadors for the Centre and indeed the County, being often invited to discuss and give our ideas and opinions to the interested parties- from the Queen to Members of Parliament, inspectors to charity workers and researchers.

Other Committees also exist to serve our needs and interests…
The Social Committee…
works to organise social events such as the very popular Centre parties and the Leavers Ball. The funds raised by the committee not only subsidise the various social events but also help students to pursue specialist activities such as charity work.
The Sports Committee…
aims to help the development of sport within the centre by organising various events such as inter-tutor group sports competitions as well as sponsored events that can provide financial support for students to pursue sporting interests outside the centre. The committee also organises the centres splendid annual participation in the Great North Run where we annually have over 150 students competing and marshalling whilst raising money for local charities.
The Charities Committee…
works to raise as much money as possible for a range of good causes which in the last year have included: Breast Cancer Research, British Heart Foundation, Children In Need, The Poppy Appeal and Save the Children. Talent shows, fancy dress days, quizzes and the like are all organised for this purpose.
The Music Committee…
aims to introduce music of all kinds to a variety of people by arranging transport to a diverse range of music events. Additionally, local musicians from both inside and outside the centre are given the opportunity to perform in public in the theatre.
